The department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering was established in the academic year 1997-98 and got into a state of solid consolidation, in the years that followed, with the innovation of technology brilliant and highly sophisticated laboratories which include ‘ The Electronics & IC Lab’, the Electrical and Electronics Measurement Lab’, ‘Control and Instrumentation Lab’ and ‘Process Control Lab’ The highly inter-disciplinary nature of the department has been highlighted in the technically equipped setting of the instrumentation lab, featuring Bio-medical equipments –ECG,EMG,EEG and analytical instruments. The versatility of the departmental –laboratories has been extended by invoking a fully organized ‘Distributed Control System’, imported from Japan , by the Yokogowa Blue star limited , functioning at Bangalore. |

The project was taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.15 lakh. The ‘DCS’ thus serves the purpose of controlling and number of process stations, accessed from various locations, to a full-fledged degree. The process control laboratories , implemented at a cost of about 20 lakh , extends to find itself applied in the areas of ‘PLCs’ which take over the absolute control of various sections, the batch process station, bottle filling system, Water level controller , speed control , computer controlled processes like flow, pressure , level, temperature , to mention a few. The department has always been prompt to ensure the excellence of the students with the organization of periodical seminars on current technical development. The latest advancements in the fields of technology and current affairs have been brought in for the easy access of the students. The presence of a professional library , inside the department , which offers two international magazines and a fully accomplished inter-disciplinary references focuses the lime-light of the rapid but sharp development of the electronics & instrumentation committee in a short span of six years. |
