The Department has highly experienced and qualified faculty members.The Department is well equipped with a library, various workshops and laboratories to cater to the needs of the students. The department has the workshops like Fitting, Carpentry, Welding, Foundry, Lathe and Special Machines Shop. The various laboratories in the department are Hydraulics, Steam, Heat Engines, Strength of Materials, Fuel Testing, Instrumentation, Dynamics, Metallurgy, Heat Transfer and Metrology.It also has a CAD/CAM Laboratory with 35 Pentium systems, exclusively for the use of the Mechanical Engineering Students. Further, there are three CNC Trainer Machines and pick and place Robot. In addition to these, there is one FulLand 530CNC Production Lathe imported from Taiwan and installed in the laboratory at an approximate cost of Rs.30 lakhs.The department has latest versions of advanced design software like AutoCAD and Master CAM etc. The total investment on machinery and equipments of various workshops and laboratories is about 4.0 crores.The FAME,Association of Mechanical Engineering conducts many events like technical symposia, paper presentations, seminars etc. to expose the students to the latest technology in Design Analysis and Manufacture of machine parts.
