Since 1989

               The faculty members of all departments are well qualified and well trained in their respective fields. Most of the teaching staff are P.G Degree holders and a few are Research Scholars. The staff members take every effort to maintain the quality and guide the students in a better way so as to make them come up, and shine in today's competitive environment.

               The placement and Training cell tries to bring the prospective employers closer to the campus. We give emphasis to Industry - Institute interaction and have developed closer ties with industries and institutions. Students are placed for summer training and project training in reputed and leading industrial concerns. The cell conducts career counseling sessions and helps students identifying jobs suited to their skills and fine-tuning individual skills as per the preferred career plans.

               We have full-fledged separate computer centers / workstations for PG and UG courses. Apart from those centers, we have additional workstations for Mainframe, Internet,CAD/CAM and for First year students. The computer workstations have about 800 Pentium systems. The operating system environments that we have in our computers are DOS, Novell NetWare, Unix, Windows 9x, Linux, AIX, OS/400 and Windows NT. In software we are having all latest languages including Visuals, Sybase, Power builder, Java, web servers, web application development tools etc. Laser Printers, Color scanners, Inkjet Printers and multimedia are provided in most of our workstations. All workstations are interconnected so as to enable clients to work on IBM AS/400, IBM RS/6000, Unix (OS), and Linux (OS). Also three proxy servers serve Internet connection sharing to all distributed workstations. Video conferencing facility was also implemented.

               A collection of about 23,000 volumes of text books are available in our Library. Library automation is being carried out by Computerized Library Management System. Nearly 100 prominent periodicals, International journals and video cassettes covering various technical aspects are also available to the students through the library.

                   Manonmaniam Sundaranar University conducts two-year full time course of M.S. Information Technology and E-com at the NICE campus itself. M.K. and M.S. University M.B.A., M.C.A., and P.G.D.C.A., courses under distance education programme are also conducted at the campus.

               Internet Connectivity using VSAT and ERNET, is successfully operating in our campus and nearly 600 computer users in our campus can be online to use our internet resources. Campus networking was done two years back. To improve the performance of the overall network and to avoid cable losses, we have fibre optics as backbone and Intel Switches at important junctions. IBM RS/600 serves as the internet mail server of our college.

               A conference hall with all facilities having a seating capacity of more than 30 members has been constructed in the college for important meetings to be held. Various technical discussions, talks and project seminars are held in a well furnished seminar hall with a seating capacity of 70 members. All facilities including computer terminals, Over head projectors, LCD Projectors are provided to conference and seminar halls. A magnificent indoor auditorium which has a seating capacity of more than 450 is utilized to conduct co-curricular activities of our college and other programmes. An open air Auditorium is also constructed to organize and execute huge gathering meetings, arts day and college day celebrations etc. The Hill-top audotorium in NICE campus, facilitates the departments of the college to conduct meetings and technical meets.

               A healthy body is a prerequisite for a healthy mind. So we provide facilities for athletic events. Indoor and outdoor games, and other recreational activities. Our students perform well in District & State level competitions

               The aim of this Research Centre is to develop and explore the advanced Technologies in the field of Communication Systems. The faculty members and the students of all Engineering Departments of this College are carrying out the Research activities in the centre. The centre is getting sponsored projects from various industries. At present the program is launched with DSP based VLSI Design.
