The Noorul Islam College of Engineering, with its establishment in the year1989 by the approval of AICTE and the sanction from government of Tamil Nadu, has now become a pioneering and prominent educational institution in Tamil Nadu that imparts technological knowledge to young students of the nation and inculcates in them experience and expertise of technical skills to meet the requirements and challenges of modern technology-driven world.

               The college is run by Noorul Islam Educational Trust and administrated by its FOUNDER-CHAIRMAN Dr.. A.P.MAJEED KHAN, who has twice been honoured by the Govt. of Tamilnadu with the “Popularization of Science and Technology Award” for his untiring efforts towards reaching Science and Technology to Young School Children and laymen. The primary aim of the Trust is to establish and promote educational institutions of excellence in the field of Science and Technology with the resolve to initiate and equip the youth with originality of thinking, innovative ideas, creative urge, technological expertise and constructive bent of mind.

             Now to its credit the college has attained accreditation and ISO 9001 : 2000. It is really a laudable achievement that the college is accredited by National Board of Accreditation. Only after a careful, continuous, untiring diligence the college is able to attain this meritorious award from NBA, AICTE, New Delhi. NBA is the highest accreditation body in India constituted by an Act of Law in the Parliament. Accreditation is an honour bestowed with Institutions which fulfill certain norms and requirements stipulated by the NBA. A panel of experts headed by the Vice Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Technical University & Principals of various NIT (RECs) all over India who are scholars in the field of Science and Technology as members visited the campus. They observed examined and analyzed all the infrastructural facilities available inside the campus for three full days from different angles. As our college satisfies all their expectations and requirements they don’t have any hesitation in recommending this prestigious accomplishment. The recommendations of the panel is properly scrutinized and the accreditation is awarded by AICTE, New Delhi. It is really another feather in the cap of NICE within a short pan of 14 years. The awarding of accreditation is truly a long cherished vision which has become fruitful an it is certainly a boon to all. It is also another vital point to note that only a few Institutions are honoured with this award.

             Though ISO 9002:1994 was awarded to our college for the best administrative procedures two years back, the latest ISO 9001:2000 is further bestowed for the well maintained records and systems to improve the quality of educational process. It is really a noteworthy land mark in the growth and reputation of the college. The award creates confidence in the minds of all that the college is always marching ahead. This award is certified by STQC, Ministry of Information Technology, Govt. of India for its maintenance of quality standards and procedures as per ISO Standards.

             It has also been honored by the Certification of Accreditation by the Institution of Engineers (India).

               Every year our students bring laurels to our institution by winning Gold Medals and University Ranks in various branches. There is no doubt that the college will flourish and serve the country in general.
